Christmas Greetings from IMI

This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son
into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and send His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. (1 John 4:9, 10)

God’s love has strange mathematics – the more you divide it among others, the more it
multiplies! The joy of Christmas is celebrated in a very real way if J = Jesus first; O = others second and Y = yourself last. The vast majority of people are without real joy and peace in their hearts, but how can they have peace without giving their hearts to the Prince of Peace – Jesus Christ? He is the only one who can fill peoples’ hearts with true joy and real peace.

God the Father has bestowed His love upon us by giving His only Son as a sacrifice for our sins to redeem us from eternal damnation. Although we know that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only Saviour and there is none else, sadly billions of people in the world do not know this important truth. Therefore, it is our responsibility and privilege to share the message of Salvation with anyone God brings across our path.

We encourage you that during the Christmas celebration season not only to invite your
Christian friends to your home but also those who do not know this great truth that Jesus Christ is the only Saviour. Let’s focus on sharing this wonderful story of Salvation and God’s love with lost souls.

God created us by His love so that we also love, serve and worship Him – the only true
God. He cares for us sinners because of His love and through His love, God gave us a free
will to choose and respond to His love. Through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we receive eternal life because His love is an everlasting love.

We all have so much to thank and praise God for – and especially His everlasting love, His faithfulness, His provision and protection during 2011. We also praise God for the wonderful work He has done in us through the power of His Holy Spirit.

We thank and praise God for IMI committee members. Without the support of these
mighty men and women of God, we could not fulfil His mission to bring Christ to Muslims
and Muslims to Christ. . We also thank you all dear brothers and sisters for your prayers, donations, and spiritual and moral support in fulfilling this mission during 2011 and we look forward to serve the Lord along with you in 2012.

IMI News From the Director’s Desk June/July 2011

IMI News From the Director’s Desk                                                                          June/July 2011

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.  (Ephesians 5:11)

Currently in Australia a process is underway to establish a new national curriculum for schools. State curriculums are being replaced by one uniform national curriculum – a process that will result in one of the greatest shifts in education delivery in the history of Australia. This process is being guided and run by the recently formed Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) and follows the issuing of “The Melbourne Declaration” in December 2008.

One particular document is receiving high praise and rave reviews but it presents a biased and one might even say untruthful account of Islam and Australia is a curriculum document published and promoted by Curriculum Corporation of Australia (which is a private corporation).  Learning from One Another: Bringing Muslim Perspectives into Australian Schools is being heavily promoted as an introduction to Islam syllabus for primary and secondary students but is designed to belittle Judeo-Christian heritage of Australia and entice admiration for Islam through carefully selected half-truths and untruths. The document is issued by the National Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies, (University of Melbourne). It is available in its PDF format at: Learning from One Another: Bringing Muslim Perspectives into Australian Schools at: http://islammonitor.org/uploads/docs/LFOA.pdf

Muslims are lobbying Federal Politicians to promote Islam under the disguise of harmony. The following books have been funded by the Federal Government:

1) Muslim Australians; 2) Constructing a Local Multifaith Network; 3) Religion, Cultural Diversity and Safeguarding Australia; 4) Media Guide: Islam & Muslims in Australia; and 5) The Australian Journey – Muslim Communities.

Muslim experts have developed Islamic material in bite size portions and presented it very eloquently to promote Islam, such as ‘Appreciating Islam’ supported by the Commonwealth Government’s Living in Harmony Initiative.  Islam has been promoted through various lobby groups in Media, Politics, Judiciary and Educational Institutions.

In 1997, there was a significant two days conference in Sydney in which Muslims assessed their strategies and in conclusion targeted the following groups:

1) Aborigines; 2) Women and 3) Youth.  To achieve their goals, they outlined various approaches.

In my opinion, the general public has the right to be aware of the plans and strategies being employed to achieve the Islamisation of Australia. They need to be well equipped to combat it. The best way Christians can combat it is by loving Muslims and sharing with them the message of Salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ. They need to have understanding of the true nature and teaching of Islam.  Also Christians need to contact members of the State and Federal Parliament of their respective areas on these issues.

From time to time, IMI organizes training sessions during the year. I encourage you to come and be equipped through these sessions. If you would like to organize such a session in your church, mission or youth group, please do not hesitate to contact IMI. One of those sessions is coming up on Saturday 16 July 2011 at Creek Road Presbyterian Church, Carina QLD at 7 pm, where I will be explaining about the impact of Islam in Australia. A flyer with more details for this session is enclosed. Another session will be on Saturday 3 September 2011 and the speaker Rev. F. Iskander, will be sharing on how Shariah – Islamic Law is creeping in Australian society.   This session will be held at Cornerstone Church, 81 Mina Parade, Alderley QLD at 7 pm.

My wife Mariat and I had a very blessed and fruitful time preaching and teaching in Adelaide from the 1st to 15th June. The teaching and preaching was very well received by the believers and pastors from various churches. Hundreds of people gathered to listen and to be equipped to reach out to Muslims. We also had a wonderful time to share the Gospel with individual Muslims and other non-Christians during a Gospel outreach in Adelaide city. It was very encouraging for us to see how widely and fruitfully thousands of our tracts are being used in South Australia. Some of the key leaders of outreach are very grateful for the resources and work of IMI. We have been invited to return to Adelaide to conduct more training seminars later in 2011.

In Melbourne, we spent time working on the book ‘The Impact of Islam in Australia’, which we hope to publish in near future.  We will be in Sydney from 2nd – 11th July and will value your prayer support.

As 1Peter 3:15 says: “… and always be ready to give a defence to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.”

Are you equipped well to tell others what Jesus Christ has done for you?

God bless you al

In His Service

Migration (Hijrah) & Jihad (Holy War): According to the Islamic Scholars

6 April 2011

The ever growing trend of Muslim migration to the Western world is deep rooted in Islamic teaching. According to Islamic history, Islam was only established after Muhammad and his followers migrated from Mecca to Medina.

Migration is a form of Jihad, as we read in Sura 8:74 “And those who believed, and emigrated and strove hard in the Cause of Allah (Al-Jihad), as well as those who gave (them) asylum and aid; – these are the believers in truth, for them is forgiveness and Rizqun Karim (a generous provision i.e. Paradise).”

Sometimes, people may think that the sinking of the boat peoples’ boats may deter others catching a boat to come to Australia or any other Western nation. It may be true in case of non-Muslims, but for Muslims Allah promises a reward for them if death overtakes them during migration (hijrah).

Sura 4:100 says: “He who emigrates (from his home) in the Cause of Allah, will find on earth many dwelling places and plenty to live by. And whosoever leaves his home as an emigrant unto Allah and His Messenger, and death overtakes him, his reward is then surely incumbent upon Allah.” [Hilali & Khan, The Noble Qur’an]

Commenting on Sura 4:100, Ibn Kathir, a Sunni scholar tells the story of a man, who killed 99 people and was asked to repent but he did not. Later he was told to emigrate from his land to another land but he died on the way. Ibn Kathir writes: “The angels of mercy and the angels of torment disputed about the man, whereas the former said that he went out in repentance, while the latter said that he did not arrive at his destination. They were commanded to measure the distance between the two lands and to whichever land he is closer to, he will be considered part of that land. … The angels found that he died closer to the land that he intended to emigrate to by a hand-span, and thus the angels of mercy captured his soul.” [Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Vol. 2 pp. 562-563]

In his series of lectures on ‘Immigration and Jihad’, a Shi’ia scholar, Prof. Murtadha Mutahhari discusses that:

Immigration and jihad are two cornerstones on which Islam relies on in the social field. As is evident, the Holy Qur’an has, out of reverence for their sanctity, held them in high regard, wherever they are mentioned. … Tackling the subject from a semantic standpoint, we would come across gradations that cannot be reached without going through both the categories of jihad as well as immigration. That is, it is implausible that someone attains the rank of Mujahid (fighter) before experiencing combat in the battlefield. Likewise, one cannot be deemed “immigrant” without going through the process of real immigration, in the manifest meaning of term.

He also makes it clear by quoting a young fighter, who, while going to the battle field, recited verses, sang praises and said, “O Lord! Illuminate our hearts with the light of faith. Make us among the true immigrants (muhajirs) and fighters (mujahids) in the way of striving to make the word of Thy religion rule supreme.”

Minorities minister Shahbaz Bhatti assassinated

ISLAMABAD: Gunmen shot and killed Pakistan’s government minister for religious minorities on Wednesday, the latest attack on a high-profile Pakistani figure who had urged reforming harsh blasphemy laws that impose the death penalty for insulting Islam.

Shahbaz Bhatti was on his way to work in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, when unknown gunmen riddled his car with bullets, police officer Mohmmad Iqbal said. The minister arrived dead at Shifa Hospital and his driver was also wounded badly, hospital spokesman Asmatullah Qureshi said.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but private Pakistani TV channels showed pamphlets at the scene of the killing that were attributed to the Pakistani Taliban warning of the same fate for anyone opposing the blasphemy laws.

Gulam Rahim was coming from a nearby market when he saw Bhatti’s car drive out of his house. Three men standing nearby with guns suddenly began firing at the vehicle, a dark-colored Toyota.  Two of the men opened the door and tried to pull Bhatti out, Rahim said, while a third man fired his Kalashnikov rifle repeatedly into the car. The three gunmen then sped away in a white Suzuki Mehran car, said Rahim who took shelter behind a tree.

Pakistani TV channels showed Bhatti’s vehicle afterward, its windows shattered with bullet holes all over. It was not immediately clear why Bhatti, a member of the ruling Pakistani People’s Party, did not have bodyguards with him.  Pakistani government leaders condemned the attack.

“This is concerted campaign to slaughter every liberal, progressive and humanist voice in Pakistan,” said Farahnaz Ispahani, an aide to President Asif Ali Zardari. “The time has come for the federal government and provincial governments to speak out and to take a strong stand against these murderers to save the very essence of Pakistan.”

Bhatti’s friend Robinson Asghar said the slain minister had received threats following the death of the Punjab governor. Asghar said he had asked Bhatti to leave Pakistan for a while because of the threats, but that Bhatti had refused.  Pakistan’s information minister, Firdous Ashiq Awan, said Bhatti had played a key role in promoting interfaith harmony, and he was a great asset.   “We are sad over his tragic death,” she said, adding that the government would investigate why he did not have a security escort.

Muslims set fire to Christians’ homes in south Egypt

Please pray for these Christians as they suffer for bearing Christ’s name.  Jesus said a time would come when those who kill you think they are doing a service to God.

Obama sends Eid greetings to Muslims

President Barak Hussein Obama and his wife Michelle have sent greetings to the Ummah at the start of their Eid festival.

Unfortunately the accompanying explanation of the Eid festival is wrong.

Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of the Sacrifice, follows the annual pilgrimage to Mecca. It commemorates the willingness of biblical patriarch Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael and during the period Muslims distribute food to the poor.

The “biblical” partiach Abraham did NOT sacrifice his son Ishmael.  The Torah is very clear that Abraham attempted to sacrifice his son Isaac.  The Qur’an is in error.

God says clearly that the son (Ishmael) of the slave woman (Hagar), is cast out and is not heir to the son (Isaac) of the free woman (Sarah).  Muslims are claiming that Hagar is their mother and therefore cannot inherit the kingdom of our Father and God without repentance.

[28] Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. [29] But just as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now. [30] But what does the Scripture say (Genesis 21:10)? “Cast out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman shall not inherit with the son of the free woman.” [31] So, brothers, we are not children of the slave but of the free woman.
(Galatians 4:28-31 ESV)
